Will GOP State Lawmakers Vote Against Tieton Water Fix?

I’ve been watching with interest the plight of the citizens of the small rural town of Tieton who experienced a massive failure of their domestic water system when it decided to fail with multiple leaks causing the loss of water to some 1200 residents for several days. The aging system is literally patched together with chewing gum and will needs to be completely replaced in order for Teitonites (?) to have a safe, reliable water system again, This is the kind of chronic problem small towns have when they have a limited tax base – it hard to keep up with the replacement of costly infrastructure.

In a compassionate response to a plea for help from small rural town, Gov. Gregoire put into her state budget a line item of $1M to help with the reconstruction/replacement of the aging system. Tieton is completely within precinct 1901 of the 14th legislative district with 300 registered voters of the 1200 residents – about average for rural Yakima County. The residents should be greatly interested in how their Republican electeds –young Charlie Ross, Mary Skinner, and appointed Jim Clements – vote on the budget.

I double dog dare them to vote against it and will personally let all the residents know if they do! Sounds like fertile ground for Dems to do some voter registration in Tieton and some electioneering for Democrats next election cycle………
