Will our state legislators pass any bills?

I know it seems crazy but I will be surprised if our Central Washington delegation passes anything. That’s right.

My question is: Will our state legislators pass one bill this year?

Here’s what they’ve done so far:

Rep. Mike Armstrong (R-12): Sponsored one bill, no hearing

Rep. Cary Condotta (R-12): Sponsored eight bills, no hearings

Sen. Linda Evans Parlette (R-12): Sponsored nine bills, no hearings

Sen. Janea Holmquist (R-13): Sponsored nine bills, one hearing

Rep. Judy Warnick (R-13): Sponsored two bills, no hearings

Rep. Bill Hinkle (R-13): Sponsored eighteen bills, one hearing

Sen. Jim Clements (R-14): Sponsored ten bills, one hearing

Rep. Mary Skinner (R-14): Sponsored one bill. passed out of committee

Rep. Charles Ross (R-14): Sponsored one bill, no hearing

Sen. Jim Honeyford (R-15): Sponsored sixteen bills, seven hearings, one passed out of committee

Rep. Bruce Chandler (R-15): Sponsored one bill, no hearing

Rep. Daniel Newhouse (R-15): Sponsored four bills, no hearings

Currently, our whole delegation has two bills that seem to have any chance of moving forward. One will establish a Poet Laureate and the other will exempt fraternal organizations from property taxes.

I’ll keep watching and keep you posted.
