Rep. Bruce Chandler Caught Red-Handed

Should you show up for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a project you didn’t vote for? Rep. Bruce Chandler (R-Granger) thinks so. Here he is shown at a ribbon cutting for a new transportation project in Zillah, WA. Yet, he voted against both bills that increased funding for road projects throughout Washington State.

Politicians do ribbon-cuttings all the time. However, I’m not sure you should show up if YOU DID NOT VOTE FOR THE PROJECT! Luckily, Rep. Zack Hudgins (D-Tukwila) pointed it out at a House Transportation hearing a couple days ago.

Here’s Rep. Hudgins making a note of the ribbon cutting during the hearing: Didn’t Bruce Chandler Vote Against This Project?

And here’s a pdf of the State Transportation Improvement Board Handout with Rep. Chandler clearing enjoying himself at the ribbon cutting: Transportation Improvement Board Presentation

LMAO. Suppose he will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the viaduct next?

Chandler, Newhouse, Honeyford and Hastings are usually invited to all Zillah gatherings and photo opportunities. They are usually listed as dignataries. Zillah is well known to be “Republican Country”. I found it insulting to have them show up to a park playground dedication when they had nothing to with the accomplisment. Well, it was election time!

Just goes to show – when you don’t fight for every district, every town, you are giving the enemy large chunks of territory. If anything, the rural districts should be solid D’s – I would love to hear someone explain how the GOP has been on the side of the farmer, say in the oh past 25 years. They have decimated the family farm and favored the corporate Ag farms every time. Suckers we are!
