Carmen Streiff of Yakima Elected Chair of 13th Legislative District Committee

Carmen Streiff, a longtime party activist who resides in Terrace Heights, a Yakima suburb, is the new chair of the 13th Democratic Legislative District- that is comprised mainly of Grant and Kittitas counties plus a portion of Yakima County.

Streiff, who chairs the Yakima Democratic Club, was elected at a weekend reorganization meeting in Ellensburg. She said the committee plans to hold its next meeting in late June in Ellensburg.

David Bowen of Ellensburg, a Kittitas County commissioner, was elected vice chair; John Wyble of Ellensburg, secretary;  Linda Talerico of Ellensburg, treasurer; Tammy Holmes of Thorp, state committee woman; and Sandy Lazorik of Yakima, state committee man.

The 13th LD plans to send a delegation to the State Central Committee meeting in Bellingham, April 27-28, Streiff said.
