I love the way legislators like Rep. Bill Hinkle (R-Cle Elum) will beat their chest about the rising cost of government. If you hear him talk, it sounds like he’s the only thing standing between government and your pocketbook.
Truth is, Bill is government. And, boy howdy, he’s been getting drunk on your tax dollars. Now, some of these projects are worthwhile and I don’t mind spending my hard earned tax money on worthwhile projects. But, I’m sure not going to listen when a legislator like Bill Hinkle talks about “protecting taxpayers” or “government running more like business.”
Bill just doesn’t have the same priorities as we do. He bent over backwards to get that horse park but talked about “too much government” when it came to supporting our schools, fixing our roads or making sure kids had health insurance.
