John McCain’s criticism of Barrack Obama’s so called lack of experience and to be ready on day one PALES when compared to his ‘rolling the dice’ choice of running mate, Sarah Palin. Paul Begala wrote an excellent piece on this. While the first term governor of a state with a population of less than the city of San Francisco and 2 years earlier was mayor of a town of 8,00 residents has an interesting and compelling story to tell; she, by no stretch of imagination would be ready to step in on day one. And with McCain celebrating his 72nd birthday and history of cancer, this has become an important issue. in Begala’s commentary; he lists the several prominent and very capable names that McCain passed over to take this high stakes gamble.
I see the KIT morning boys were falling all over themselves in relentless praise for this pick. It’s fun to listen to them blindly and hurriedly climb on board McCain’s decision. This so called ‘objective and fair and balanced’ team will need to redouble their spin machine efforts to ‘sell’ the public on this one! A courageous decision they’ll say when, in reality, it’s a reflection of McCain’s lack of wisdom and leadership capabilities.
I like Sarah Palin and her life story and her character is applaudable to say the least. And she’s easy to look at! The #2 head of our country needs more credentials and battle testing than she has had. Looks like the Republicans have thrown in the towel on this one but Sarah Palin’s star is rising and will no doubt be heard from again after Obama and Biden win the general election.
