I am a bit confused over the statements about “spreading the wealth”. It seems the Republicans are a bit paranoid that some of what they have will be taken away and given to someone else. I did not hear it in that manner. From a Democratic perspective in my humble opinion, the wealth is spread when people have jobs. When people are working and earning a living wage they then have resources to spend, what is spent ends up spreading to those who sold or provided product or service. Does not increased employment, living wages, affordable education, training, housing etc does that not spread the wealth? I think so.
As an aside, would some eloquent person please explain to Repubicans that Democrats also pay taxes. Whatever the Repubicans have to do, so do Democrats and visa versa as we are going to be reminded over the next four years:). I dont think Democrats like taxes any more than Republicans, but Republicans are constantly whining and griping. Maybe Democrats are just not as selfish or mean and realize that this state and nation are only as strong as it its weakest link.
