If you haven’t met the Condits at a Democratic event, you should seek them out. They are great people. Colin is 90 years old and Margaret is 80. That doesn’t stop them from being active in a number of progressive groups in Ellensburg.

With controversy rising over the Vietnam War, Colin and Margaret became active in the Kittitas County Democratic Party. Colin in 1967 became a party precinct committeeman and took part in efforts to make the community aware of what he believed was an immoral war.
“I felt there were some very basic questions about how the war started, how it was conducted by our leaders that were not answered,” Colin said. “There were divisions over the war throughout our nation, in our own community and on campus.”
Both Colin and Margaret took part in community marches against the Vietnam War and other activities.
