I find it ironic how Republicans get elected and re-elected in Eastern Washington. Their formula hasn’t changed in 20 years. Be against taxes, profess to have family values, claim to be for less government, pro business, less regulation, strong on Public Safety, and then, when elected, vote against virtually everything knowing that many will pass and your district will still benefit. A great example of this can be found in this link to Publicola.
The Valley Mall, I-82 interchange is gong to be funded with the Democratic stimulus package because it was a project developed from the nickle gas tax that our esteemed legislators voted AGAINST. Thanks to the overwhelming support of west side Democrats and through ZERO efforts of “our legislators” our area stands to benefit greatly by getting this project done now rather than 10 or more years from now. You can be sure that every chest thumping, do nothing Republican will be there upon completion of the project for the ribbon cutting. And they will be endlessly praised by KIT Radio!
Not here, though. We will continue to hold them accountable and some day the voters will also.
