Yakima Herald thinks small

It appears the Yakima Herald has become a victim of the Republican Party ‘do nothing’ attitude by suggesting the Obama administration focus on the financial sector and put energy and health care on the back burner for now. (see March 25th editorial. ‘Obama, make fixing the economy your only goal right now’)

The financial sector is not a stand alone group. All facets of this economy need to be addressed and there is no time to sit around and wait for a domino theory of fixing things one at a time. The fact is health care and energy are a critical part of our financial predicament and need to be addressed concurrently. Perhaps the Herald was too used to a President who spent 8 years swaggering and dawdling, and talking tough, and waiting for the market to work it’s magic during falling demand and sky rocketing oil prices and increased health care costs coupled with less health care.

This President is on task and his focus on the economy is ever present. We’ve got the right team in charge and the proof will be in the pudding. We’ve seen what trickle down does and what deregulation and lack of oversight has done, so broaden your vision Yakima Herald and watch this country grow!
