Last week, I got called out for using the word “teabaggers” in one of my posts. My definition of “teabagger” is someone who brings a bag of tea to a tax protest. I know there are others but my midwest upbringing forbids me from knowing about them.
I may get in trouble again. This time for using the word “shrinkage”. My definition of “shrinkage” is what’s happening to the group of people who label themselves Republican. That number is shrinking. To use it in a sentence: “Republicans are dealing with a serious shrinkage problem when it comes to the number of people who identify with their party.”
I didn’t even go out of my way to use the term. It’s right in this headline from the Washington Post. Right next to the word Republican.
