The Yakima Herald reports that the Yakima City Council will be adopting a new ethics code.

It’s interesting to see who doesn’t see a need for it.

They are correct to question the need. Should not the ethics arbiter be the voter. This is political posturing and Sonya is desperately trying to be relevant. Ain’t going to work.

  2. Neal says:

Interesting who didn’t see a need for this too..

This from the YHR’s coverage of last night’s city council candidate forum:

“None of the candidates in attendance said they voted for the EMS levy, which voters overwhelmingly rejected in February.”

This of course included the liberal annointed candidates Sonia and Ben…Maybe they’re on my side after all.

  3. mainstreeter says:

Lover doesn’t understand ethics, why should he ask for the code to be explained to him?

It’s like asking a criminal to feel remorse.

  4. Neal says:

Well, Mainstreter..nice to see you back. As usual, your comments aren’t relevant.

Did the wizard give you some courage while you were gone? Want to make an easy hundred?

I knew you wouldn’t…You’re just air.

  5. mainstreeter says:

They’re not relevant because of your parallel universe thinking, Neal?

Lover, member of City Council on record saying he thinks the ethics code is unnecessary. Neal, You are Sofa King, We Todd Did. Ya know?

  6. stir stick says:

    from mainstreeter:
You are Sofa King, We Todd Did. Ya know?

this is some wierd ass mumbo jumbo
I guess we just need to understand it is what flys out of the brain of mainstreet type morons

  7. Neal says:

Mainstreeter…no wonder no one from your party comes to your defense…

    YIKES.. “WE TODD DID”?

    Chewbacca was easier to understand.

Appears mainstreeter, the chickens**t, doesn’t want to take the bet… He’s nothing but air.

Hector…want to stand in for another one? You did a fine job of taking Drew off the hook.

  8. HectorFranco says:

    Neal,

I only take bets that I am confident that I am going to win.

This whole discussion about an ethics code is a no brainer. Of course they should adopt one. Like yesterday.

Lover asking such a stupid question is childish. If he doesn’t know then maybe he should not be on the council.

I would also recommend that they put some teeth into the code, like council people having to dish out money out of their own pockets rather then the citizens having to pay for their violations. That makes no sense.

Stuneros, that jab at Rodriguez about postering for votes is a bit of a streach, but it is a good example of how the opposite side can twist words to fit their purpose. She is an attorney and, therefore, very familiar with ethics codes. I am sure that when she saw the need for one, she did not go, “Oh, I am going to recommend a code ethics so I can get more votes! Give me a break…

  9. mainstreeter says:

Yes, it looks like the Mayor and Sonia and Zais are the only ones who really want the code, the others are either still swimming in the shallow end of the pool or looking for a life jacket. Not good for Nov. when the voters will remember the origins of all those emails and their statements.

  10. stir stick says:

looks like the Mayor and Sonia and Zais might be the next crew to have a law suit brought up. they may have been haveing a off hours meeting. better get the last 8 years of email they have had and sort thru it for hours.
o wait these are Rons favorites NEVER MIND SORRY

  11. mainstreeter says:

“They may have been”… Who is your source? Bruce Smith? ROTFLMAO?
