Yakima Mayor speaks out- admonishes Republican Party

Yakima mayor, Dave Edler spoke out against partisan politics in the non-partisan city council races. The mayor is disgusted with the leadership of the Republican Party and the Bruce Smith followers for their misguided and distorted power brand of politics. They stand for nothing and are clearly the party of NO. Local Republicans should take a que from Dave Edler and speak out against the right wing leaders of their party. Now is not the time to be a follower of their ideology. Now is the time for republicans to muster the courage to speak out against these two faced, lying hippocrites.

In the Yakima Herald story Lover tries to twist the subject of partisan endorsements in non-partisan races when he says; “In my opinion, he’s made it partisan, and I will request an endorsement from the Republican Party,” .

It’s the same type of statement Ensey used for his campaign to get the Republican Party to endorse him in a non-partisan race. The GOP lowered themselves to crawl up next to Ensey and support him and now they are getting ready to launch an all out campaign to save the sorry ass of Bill Lover. The Voters should be sick and tired of these un-ethical characters and replace them with some fresh faces that actually care about our city. The Bruce Smith poker game crowd have created a cesspool for their endorsed candidates to swim in. It’s time to drain the swamp!

This city needs more leaders like Mayor Dave Edler to tell it like it is.

It’s good we have Elder on board against the Yakima Crime Syndicate. He and the voters shouldn’t be afraid of their tactics.

  2. HectorFranco says:

I wondered how long it would be before it came to this,…reminds me of Colin Powel and Cheney all over again.

But aren’t you Ron also contributing to this…you almost sound hateful,…lets have cooler heads prevail. Wow, did I say that!

  3. mainstreeter says:

Yes, BS is Dick Cheney to the 3 amigos and ‘mom’. Good comparison.

  4. stir stick says:

I will take mr smith, the 3 amigos, and mom over DICK, ELDER BONLANDER or some out of town dipstick motor mouth like (mainstreet,DREW, and all the other Bonlander ringers and back slappers in here )

  5. Neal says:

Is there a chance mainstreeter could actually spell the mayor’s name?

    HELLO CHICKENS***T

  6. mainstreeter says:

What are you for Kneel, is it possible to know?

  7. stuneros says:

I agree Hector, Ron comes off as a bitter, hateful man having lost his last two election runs and he blames Smith for his demise. The man only has one vote for Pete’s sake.
Edler has no right to dictate to a party what they should do in this situation. Especially the GOP, with which he has no affiliation. It is particularly two faced when he is recruiting and supporting his hand picked sycophants for the office.
We ought to be discussing the policy differences of the candidates, but I know Ron is to small to do that.

  8. Neal says:

well, I guess after Ron muffed “Hypocrit”, Mainstreter comes by his ignorance honestly.

No balls for the bet, Mainstreeter? Maybe you should be looking for a spine donor.

  9. newtoyakima says:

For a non-partisan election, Lover and Edler are sure making it one. Makes it harder to make an informed decion on just who the heck to vote for.

  10. corie says:

Neal, your big ol’ red pencil for spelling errors needs to be used on yourself. It is spelled “hypocrite.”

  11. Neal says:

Corie, you are indeed correct. I could squeak out and call mine a typo, though…Or, I could point out its listing in the “Urban Dictionary”

  12. corie says:

..which was not my point, as I suspect you understand.

  13. mainstreeter says:

Sounds like Lover is having a rough time if the Mayor’s endorsement didn’t go the way he wanted it. Was he pinning all his hopes on an endorsement? I hope Lover gets campaign help soon…

  14. stir stick says:

mainstreet why do you care who pope / mayor Edler supports? You dont live in Yakima, so what you think and have to say regarding anything in Yakima means diddly squat to most anybody here. Go run of office in whatever rock quary you crawled out of.

  15. Neal says:

    Streeter…find a spine donor yet?

  16. mainstreeter says:

Democracy is coming to Yakima Neal, get used to it. You can join the ranks of Ensey who lost a lawsuit based on desperation and his self inflated ego or you can play by the rules, which is it for you?

  17. HectorFranco says:

    Mainstreeter,

Personally, I can’t wait. And I will do whatever I can to make it so.

To Life, Liberty & the persuit of happines.

  18. Neal says:

    Maintreeter…find a spine donor yet?

  19. mainstreeter says:

Hector, what they want is a snow white American. That is their problem.

  20. wrycontent says:

    Lover, partisan, pshaw!

  21. Jason says:

    MAINSTREETER!!!
“what they want is a snow white American. That is their problem.” I find your statement very offensive and insulting. I am an average white conservative male in my mid 30′s…I am no different than any other average American, My best friend is Hispanic…I am not prejudice, or chauvinistic, neither is the republican party. Your statement shows your ignorance and your contempt for conservatives, and I do not respect those who do not respect our differences weather they be in our appearances, or ideology. You obviously have no respect for anyone different from yourself.

  22. Drew says:

Hector- Mainstreeter is obviously correct; the party of “no” likes to wave the flag, while talking about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But they’ve made it pretty clear that they don’t want that for every American- just for the ones they have determined as “worthy”. The GOP has a poor (if not non-existant) record on civil rights, women’s rights and human rights in general. As a political entity, the GOP has done more to divert the country away from a democracy, instead selling out to big corporate interests. The neo-cons have have been quite OK with the disenfranchisement of the poor, disabled, elderly, as well as soldiers and veterans, while still holding onto our flag. The party of “family values” couldn’t care less about the fact that their policies have pushed more American families into the public assistance programs they hate, and that more military families must rely on food stamps and housing aid while Halliburton and Bechtel made record profits from war. In short, the neo-cons hate the democracy that our founding fathers built into the Constitution, including the most basic tenets that protect and preserve that democracy for every citizen, regardless of color or socio-economic status.

  23. Jason says:

LIFE-Republicans do not support death panels. If an older person needs a hip replacement, they should get the hip replacement, not just a pain pill.
LIBERTY- Republicans want to preserve liberty by opposing this horrendous national health care bill…democrats want to control what medicine you get, what tests you have done, they want to control what we eat, and how we treat our bodies-where is the liberty in that? government control equals less individual liberty.
PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS- Liberty equals happiness, poor health care (even if everyone has it) will not bring anyone happiness, waiting lists and rationing, will bring on a new level of misery never before seen in this country. Democrats want to determine who is “worthy” to receive medical care, if you are not “a productive citizen” no treatments, Obama says “just give them a pain pill.”
Drew I have news for you..our founding fathers did not intend for the government to control us, they wanted us to control government.
Obama has appointed Czars that do not answer to anyone except Obama himself, they are doing more to destroy “the democracy that our founding fathers built into the Constitution”.
Your view of the GOP is so wrong, I don’t even know where to begin, but here it goes….the GOP was the party of Abraham Lincoln http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/7/6/105527.shtml
I assume by women’s rights, you are talking about abortion,a woman does not have the right to murder unborn babies and the GOP is protecting the unborn baby’s human rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The GOP supports the rights of individuals, and personal liberties, not the destruction of life, liberty, or the dismantling of our constitution.

  24. HectorFranco says:

    Jason,

The key word in your claim that,”the GOP was the party of Abraham Linclon”….is WAS and the article that you refer us talks about Linclon and the 50′s and 60′s and lamenting why Bush WAS losing ground in the Black vote even though he had done soooo much for them.

The more relevant question is, “What has the GOP done lately?
Other then oppose Sotamayor, Immigration Reform and health care reform…The GOP Party of NO, NO, NO, NO, no, no, and no……into irrelevancy.

  25. Jason says:

    HectorFranco,
let me ask you this…what did the democrat party do during the Bush years?
I think it is fine that people express their views, dems did it about the Iraq war, now we get to do it about spending and health care reform, etc. do you really think that public opinion is irrelevant?
