The philosophical contradictions from the king of negativity

Bruce Smith speaks profoundly in his latest philosophical rant and his paranoid delusions of big government taking us over. The great distortionist states “ Sometimes it’s tough believing in limited government when it seems that everyone around you wants to expand programs.” I wonder if he’s referring to his endorsed candidate Maureen Adkison and her call for more youth and senior programs?

He goes on to praise the most ineffective and negative members of the city council, Bill Lover. He says one of Lovers opponents, Ben Soria, is “a take charge guy, a man who wants to roll up his sleeves and make Yakima a better place by growing government.” The last three words “by growing government” are an outright distortion and lie.

The fact is B.S. is worried sick that Soria will beat Lover and that means less control of the council. With Lover gone, Rick Ensey becomes invisible and Smith suffers a defeat as a kingmaker. That is the most positive outcome for the city of Yakima.

Smith goes on to wail, “ it’s not easy being conservative”. What? In this town? Come on Bruce, you got to be kidding! What he really means is it’s not easy changing the real conservatives into ideological right wing nuts. Many of the rational conservatives are voting for Ben Soria.

Conservative to Bill Lover and the Smithites is saying NO to everything. It’s the easiest thing to do. Even if progress is made against their NO vote they’ll be there to cut the ribbons and claim credit. It’s easy (and lazy) to have no vision for the future, no plans for running things more efficiently, no specifics on budget cuts, and be critical of all new ideas. That’s what being a conservative means to this gang!

    Mr. Bonlender,

1? just 1. you wrote about Bruce Smith’s “lies” and “distortions”.

what is one “lie” or “distortion” so as to back up your claim – a single example.

Isn’t it pathetic that a former elected official can’t substantiate his claim?

  2. HectorFranco says:

Take it easy Bonlender, I voted for Soria because I believe that he can cut through the republican/democratic straight jacket that we have woven ourselves into!

Also, careful what you say about Smith…..rumor is that he is preparing a lawsuit against you to recoup some of the money that you took from Ensey…..And Eyman is around somewhere looking for you….he still remembers and is relentlessly after you….in case you had not noticed.

  3. corie says:

Relentless trolls….you guys really are easy to scare.

  4. HectorFranco says:

    Corie,

Bonlender certainly does not show any fear….so you must be referring to me.

If you read my other blogs you would know that I was being sarcastic which you mistake for fear.

I know full well that anyone can sue but whether your case has merit is an entirely different matter so Smith may as well save his money.

As to Timmy, well, he is acting childlike but relentlessly demanding.

    But you go girl!

    From the king of negativity

Ron you really are calling the kettle black on this one.

You have more negative posts on every topic and about most people in the city goverment except of course pope Elder and the wizard of Yakima Zais.

I got a cute name for you, how about Ron Bon-slander. or how about Ron Bon-stalker or Ron Bone-header they all fit at one time or the other.

  6. corie says:

My apologies, Hector. Your fear sounded legit.

But the timmy guy is still a troll.

  7. stuneros says:

Ben supports raising taxes through a PFD to fund a 35 million dollar aquatic center and also supports expanding the fire department paramedic program which would have to be funded through the general fund, are these not examples of “growing government” Ron?
Smaller government is not a bad thing Ron.
By the way, I see you old hometown of Chicago now has to shut down all non emergency services for a few days a year to help with their budget problems. Taxpayers have limits to what they will pay Ron – it is not a bottomless pit. Government at any level needs to gain the publics trust before they can ask for more.

“Government at any level needs to gain the publics trust before they can ask for more.”

Yes, we need to get rid of the Pentagon.

  9. Drew says:

Perhaps stuneros would like to see the Fire Department replaced with a garden hose and metal bucket rental system (ooooh, imagine the profit-making potential there!!). For a slight fee, he’ll throw in a complimentary packet of band-aids. Maybe stuneros can go to Seattle and do a street survey, to see if he’ll get much support for shrinking their government by eliminating the Medic One program.
With his critiques of successful services like the Social Security Administration (operates with an overhead of less than 2%, inspite of the budget raiding started by Reagan and Greenspan), and the Postal Service (which still moves more mail and parcels around the world for less money than anyone else), one might get the impression that stuneros hates senior citizens.
Mainstreeter, as for the Pentagon, it’s another area of the commons that should have never been privatized- making huge profits while under-equipping soldiers should be a crime. Even Eisenhower would have saw what they’ve done to the military as shameful.

  10. mainstreeter says:

Yes VG The 3 amigos have yet to explain the emails.

  11. Drew says:

Hmmm, yes, that’s because there is no explanation for the emails- they clearly show that Smith wants to steer to politcal power in his direction, knowing that he won’t be held accountable for anything. Interesting that the cons, both on the council as well as here, are avoiding the discussion on an “ethics policy”. Democracy will reign only if the voters are reminded of the shenanigans of the amigos at election time.

To see the councilpersons in action, and note their pseudo-respect, and then to see what they wrote to each other in email (accepting BS as God Almighty) is a total departure of character. It would be so refreshing to see the council act as humans, with tempers and intolerance that they really have, in place of shuffling what they thought would be secret emails around railing against those that they disagreed with.
Role playing is not a form of government. Manipulations incognito is not a form of government. Active participation and not treating the public as though they were mindless robots is a better form of government. Booster seat or not, Sonia has shown some real maturity, and it not part of the grand scheme of Gotcha. I submit that the whole crew should act their age and stop fiddling while Yakima burns.

Please pardon my dup. I really did not mean to say it twice. Sundance
