The fleecing of the Yakima City taxpayer continues

Thanks to Bill Lover, Micah Cawley, Kathy Coffey and Maureen Adkison taxpayers in Yakima will pony up approximately $2,000 for depositions taken Thursday, Sept 17th of Gene Rupel and Charlotte Jones. Gene and Charlotte are the petitioners in the Ensey recall process. This is in addition to whatever legal fees are being generated for preparation for next week’s hearing.

Apparently it is so important to the Ensey team as to who is and was involved in the early stages of the recall effort that they are willing to go through this exercise in futility at taxpayer expense. You can rest assured that had Ensey and his supporters be required to foot the bill that there wouldn’t be any depositions on Rupel and Jones. But, not to worry for Bruce Smith’s minion, because the city council made the decision to have we, the citizens, provide whatever funds he needs to defend himself from ..uhh, we the citizens!

No, thanks to you and yours Ron. You are the reason for this absurdity. Any cost can be attributed to you.

  2. gizmo says:

That, stuneros, is an assumption—unless you can support it with some fact(s)…. which you can’t -for none exist. Blowing smoke to distract from the issues. What would you do if you did not have your whipping boy?

  3. Drew says:

People like stuneros are ok with political corruption, when it’s their brand of conservative that’s been corrupted. Not only do they turn the other way, they demand that you ignore it as well.

  4. Neal says:

It would be a better story if they had actually been found guilty of this. But, since that hasn’t happened, I see sandwich maker continues to cost the city money.

  5. gizmo says:

There you go again, making assumptions with no fact(s) to support it.

If you repeat a lie often enough….. the village Idiots will believe it.

To whom or what is Gizmo talking about?

  7. Drew says:

He’s referring to you, neal, and your repeated suggestion that Bonlender is costing the city money for exposing the email scandal, which you would rather be kept quiet, lest it embarrass you cons. The emails are what is costing the city money, and the people whose names are all over them.

Hey, Drew, you hit on a new handle for the GOP – “cons” – they are con artists and are trying to con the American people regarding health care. They are “con”, against most everything these days as the party of “NO”. I like that better than conservative, because they surely do not seek to conserve the viability of middle class, the health and dignity of seniors or the environment. Thanks for the new label!

  9. Drew says:

Seagal- I have to give the credit for that to Thom Hartmann, who notices the same thing we do- the “conservatives” of today, the ones following the philosophies of Reagan, are aptly labeled “cons”, for just the reasons you observed here. These are not the conservatives who actually practiced fiscal conservatism and small government 50+ years ago. They feel that a strong middle class is irrelevant, and that the profits of the party’s corporate donors has to be protected over the basic needs of working wage families.

Thom Hartmann has written several really good books, and has an interesting personal story of the destruction of the middle class in America.

Seagal (or anybody else that wants to hear progressive radio online)-

You can listen to Hartmann’s show in the morning from 9 to 12, which would give anyone on this side of the Cascades something better to listen to at that hour.
